I am married with children ((and I have sold shoes). I have 3 kids: Katie-11, Jamie-9 and Phillip-4 and 3 dogs: Monty the Mutt: 5, Jasmine the Chow: 3, and Sammy the Mutt: 1. My wife and I have been married almost 16 years. I have a PhD in computational science and informatics with a speciality in computational biology. I joined MITRE as a data miner following over 20 years of collecting and analyzing various types of data. From 2002-2005 I worked for SRA International where I provided data mining, technical writing, and data analysis for various clients including the IRS, Medicaid and the National Guard Distributive Training Technology Project (DTTP). Prior to that I worked at Celera Genomics and annotated the drosophila (fruit fly), human and mouse genomes and developed algorithms and tools for analyzing genomic data. Before Celera Genomics, I worked as an exploration geologist and environmental scientist for around ten years.

My hobbies are hiking, reading, working out (martial arts, lifting and jogging) and cooking. I was in, not surpringly, Revenge of the Nerds as an extra..
