I am the President of TAPIS The Alberta Paranormal Investigators Society. At the date of its incorporation - we are the only legalized paranormal investigations team in Alberta, and the only one that has a code of ethics and bylaws registered with the government.

I have been doing investigations on a professional manner for over 5 years, but have been researching for over 25 years. I am currently in the middle of obtaining my parapsychology certification.

I have appeared on City TV 3 years in a row, doing both live and taped interviews. I also appeared on Shaw TV a local program. My articles have been picked up by various magazines, and we have appeared under 'hot stories' on Coast to Coast AM twice. We were also featured in a 5 page spread in SEE magazine

Lately our clients have been comparing us to another team in the states - calling us the female version of TAPS (not just the similar names – which is coincidental, but by how professional we are in our investigations). They appreciate how informative we are, and how we conduct our investigations more scientifically than other teams in our area.

While other teams concentrate on their 'abilities' they claim to have and mediumistic abilities, we concentrate on getting to the sources of the haunting, gathering actual video, photo, recorded evidence. Evidence you can see or hear, is more credible than taking someone’s word who claims to have these abilities. We are the more scientific group

The paranormal experiences we have come across include unexplainable haunting, and possible poltergeist activity. We only come to this conclusion AFTER the data is scrutinized and studied. When all other explanations are ruled out, then we can get to the truth (which other teams are to quick to proclaim an encounter as paranormal, to get more media attention - which hurts the industry when fiction is shown as truth). I think it is more important and exciting to show the public actual footage and evidence of possible activity, than to pass explainable as fact. You can only fool the public for so long.

Although we are known more as the scientific team, we do have a member on our team that has shown 'abilities' since a small child. Having this person on our team can sometimes help us in our investigations, but helps us in our studies on people with such talents. She has also done clearings of homes, when we deem in necessary (all for free of charge - for we believe it is wrong to charge for any service we provide in our investigations.) The good thing about this team member - is although she has shown some mediumistic talents, she is also very hard and thorough on the data we collect.

Our team consists of people from all walks of life. We have atheists, Catholics - right down to an actual ordained Celtic 'witch' (who is certified, and can perform weddings). With such a cluster of personalities and beliefs, it helps in getting in depth to what might be going on around us. We are serious about what we do, but all members have a great sense of humor.
