I'm currently a student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise (FIDM) majoring in Merchandise Marketing in downtown Los Angeles. I'm originally from New Hampshire, but made the move to West Hollywood to pursue an education in the fashion industry. I greatly enjoy lounging on the beach, grocery shopping, pretending I can skateboard and the fast paced industry of fashion. Something about all the pressure, stress and hard work makes me feel accomplished and refreshed. I like to think of myself as witty, sarcastic, determined, silly and sometimes a little bit aggressive, but it's all in good fun :)
In 2007 I was fortunate enough to help out backstage at many fashion shows during Mercedes Benz fashion week at Smashbox Studios. I dressed models, worked closely with the designers, and showed guests to their seats. It was definitely an unbelievable experience that I will never forget.
Through experiences like these and having worked in retail for the past 6 years, I've learned that it is important to always remain professional, and that hard work will always pays off in some way, shape or form. Although I've learned just a few key characteristics, I know that there is still so much more that I have to learn. It takes a lot of dedication and passion to excel in this industry, and I know I have just that. When I feel passionate about something, I put my whole heart in it. I’m determined to make my way into the fashion industry, and come out on top. To me it’s not just a career, it’s an entire lifestyle, and it’s one life style I’m just dying to live.
**Regarding my video**
Unfortunately I was unable to make a video at this time. I sincerely hope this does not affect my consideration of being chosen for the internship. Hopefully since I live in LA, I will be able to meet with someone for an interview because I really feel that I am an excellent candidate for this opportunity. –Thank you!
And incase you were wondering.. I love Hannah Montana, chocolate, MUSIC, my laptop, walking, sitting at coffee bean, the sunshine, painting my nails, changing my room around, buying new cleaning products, trying to cook, sleeping, bike riding, running around, laughing, cats!, and gladiator sandals!
I'd like to thank everyone who is involved in making this opportunity possible. I really don’t think I could express in words how excited I am about being considered for this internship. I’m getting the education at FIDM, and now all I need is the experience, and I honestly don’t think I could ask for a better way of getting that experience.
And last but not least, I'd like to thank everyone who has voted for me so far! You all have been so kind and even though this is a competition it's so nice to see everyone have so much respect and excitement for each other. So thanks and keep voting for one more day!! :) :)
