Hi, My name is Shelly Kakar.. I am a Junior in college. I am currently a pre-med Biology and Psychology major, but my heart has always been in acting! Even though I have never gotten the opportunity, I really think it is meant for me. I love performing and have been dancing and playing the piano since I was 5. It would mean so much if you guys could help me experience my dream! I just really want to try something new, and do not know where to start so if anyone has any advice or anything it would be greatly appreciated!!

11/5/2008 at 6:43 PM		I have been in the industry for about a year now and if it is something you really want to do, LA or New York is the place to be. Florida unfortunately, is not real big on castings for tv and film, if you want to do print work or commercials this is the place. As far as this website, I think any exposure is good exposure. I get mixed feedback when it comes to the castings. I was told by one of the guys working with gotcast.com that when you win it just gives you the opportunity to be submitted directly to the casting directors and if you are what they are looking for then you should get a call. I spoke with an actor registered on this site like us and he was called for one of the castings before the casting expired pretty cool, ey? Anyways I hope I was able to help you if you need anything else just let me know. Good Luck!!
