I have experience with maps, remote sensing products and their application in land resource planning. I have used GPS, GIS, image processing and automated mapping technologies to support natural resource planning. I have solid computer skills.
I am experienced in four season hiking, backpacking and camping. I have experience camping via snowshoeing and canoeing (www.WinterCampers.com). I am a Leave No Trace Master Educator (ADK 2007); American Canoe Association Certified Paddling and Basic River Instructor for kayaks, solo and tandem canoes (ACA June, 2002); and certified Wilderness First Aid (December 2003) provider.
I am experienced with farm tractors and farm equipment, I am comfortable driving 4WD and standard transmission vehicles. I am used to hauling and backing trailers I have built fence, used chainsaws and other powertools.
I have 25 years experience raising and training horses (NYS Horse Council Western Pleasure Champion, 1998).
I have experience with livestock – cows, chickens, rabbits, dogs, and horses. I have butchered domestic rabbits and chickens for the purpose of eating.
I have basic skills in bird identification by sight and song, I have participated in raptor surveys,I volunteered for Department of Environmental Conservation July 2002 Wilson Hill Goose Roundup and have basic wildlife 'scat & tracks' identification skills.
I have experience in making public presentations, and public speaking. I have been a 4H leader.
