I'm a 43 year old mother of 5. I modeled briefly at 16 and would love to get back into it again.
The most interesting job I ever had was as a magicians assistant. My daughter and I were just on the Mike and Juliet show in New York which aired last Friday. We had a blast in Times Square!
I've been pretty sick the past couple years and I've endured alot. It's good to feel good again!
About 5 years ago I weighed 270 lbs. Without surgery I was able to lose over 140 lbs. Lives can be changed!! We have the power. There is always hope.
I'm uniquely aware of my own mortality. I want to live every moment of every day being true to who I am. I want some adventure in my life!

9/22/2008 at 2:15 PM		Wow- you really have been through a lot. I believe that every day we have a choice either to fold up and say "poor me" or stand up and make the best of every minute. It looks like you feel the same way. You are a beautiful lady and if modeling is what you want to do, you will. I never modeled before but now I am finding jobs- not many because I live in such a remote place- but those I find are fun and rewarding. Wish I could do it full time.  
 
Did you have the extra skin problem after losing so much? I did. I look fine in clothes but I don't walk on the beach in a bikini without a coverup. Laying on a towel is fine though- gravity is a beautiful thing then!

9/21/2008 at 1:37 PM		For twenty years I didn't smile or feel good about me. I gained almost as much weight as you lost- worked hard, tried to be what I thought everyone else wanted me to be. Lost myself. Three years ago things changed and I started losing my weight (mine was 95- I did it by myself too) hoping just to get to a size 12 so I'd feel comfortable. As the weight came off I found myself- what a rush. People started reacting well to me, started to tell me I was pretty. Never in my life had that happened. I started to smile. The weight kept coming off. Then I started to tone my body and got to a size 4. Now I model when I can find "senior citizen" jobs- but I am the happiest I've ever been. 
 
I met my husband 25 years ago. We decided to live on an island. We fell in love with Barbados but after researching discovered that the tax laws were such that it would be close to impossible for us to make it there owning our own business. We decided to go somewhere where we knew "the rules" so Hawaii was the place. We made three trips to decide which island- bought a tiny little fixer-upper house and moved. 20 years ago. To Kauai. Never looked back. We are both from tiny towns in the Midwest but lived in the city for a long time- felt the need to get back to small town living but in a place with perfect weather.
