I am 20 years old and I live with my mom and my two dogs (11 years old and 2 years old). The older dog, Rafiki, is a Golden Retriever Mix and the younger dog,Bouche, the trouble maker, is a Labradoodle.
When I first got Bouche, in february of 2007, he was only six weeks old. He was a small cute dog with a lot of energy. Him and my other dog (a yorkie named Sonnie who now lives in Georgia with my sister) lived in the house together and did not get a long. My yorkie loved attention and always wanted to be around me. Of course, Bouche, being a puppy wanted to always be with me too. I started to house train him. He of course would get so excited, he peed everywhere. He would walk and pee. Cleaning up after him, everywhere, wasn't that bad although it was annoying. He eventually got over being peeing everywhere. He loved to play though. We'd go out for walks and play fetch and tug of war and even go swimming, but he wanted to play even when it was time to sleep. He didn't want to sleep in the bed I got him, instead he wanted to jump in and out of my bed. As he got older and bigger, he got too uncontrollable to live in the house. I decided to buy him an igloo with a cushion for him to sleep outside. He chewed up the screen door on his igloo and then chewed up his cushion. Now he doesn't like to sleep in it, but sleeps in the wooden dog house, which he chews on.
Bouche has been taken to a trainer to help him be socialized with other dogs and to learn how to walk on the leash. When I'm walking, or running, him in the neighborhood, he wants to pee on every plant, sniff everything and try to charge at other dogs. I can't walk him without a leash because he will run down the street, in the middle of the street at that.
He's gated in on one side of the backyard because he will jump in the pool and chew the plants in the flowerbed. He will even pee on the porch and on the plants, instead of his designated area.
I love playing with him. He'll swim with me but he'll jump in and out of the pool, which is annoying. when we play catch together, he looses focus and might jump in the pool or flowerbed, or even on the table. He always jumps on me and doesn't respect my boundaries. If I try to pet Rafiki or sonnie, he gets jealous and jumps on me and tries to get all of the attention. When I have guest, he jumps all over them as well.
Animal Planet, my dog is uncontrollable. He has been to training but you can't tell by how he acts. Help me control my dog.
