About
I fix Macintosh computers for a living. Moved to Portland Oregon and discovered a love of the mountains. Started riding snowboards, rock climbing, mountain climbing and snowshoeing; all at the tender age of 34.
When my mom first put The Hobbit into my hands as a youngster, I got hooked on the idea of adventure. My dad made me and my brothers some wooden swords. We sparred and fought imaginary beasts. For a long time, my idea of adventure involved playing D&D and other "old school" role playing games and reading about the fictional exploits of fantastical characters.
Then I bought my first motorcycle. I rode and caroused. I had images of biker gangs swimming in my head as I fired up my ride. I spent many years traveling the roads of Texas with my riding buddies. I even moved from Austin to San Francisco on the back of my Harley. My horizons got farther with that bike; becoming a rider expanded my world into some real adventure.
I bounced around in California for a few years. Met my wife. Moved to Portland, Oregon. There I started all my craziness; rock climbing and mountain climbing. Snowboarding. Backpacking. Long snowshoes in deep powder in the middle of winter. I started having real adventures. Journeys that seem mundane to my 13 year old eyes; but fantastical now.
Alaskan Adventurer would let me realize the next step in my path of adventures. I would be able to see some of the most beautiful and dramatic landscapes in the world. I'd get to have new adventures in multiple ways; meeting new people, trying new stuff and raising my game to new levels.
Please consider me for the show. I'd love to be there!
