GotCast was born from one simple idea - you deserve your shot at stardom!
Until now, getting there was nearly impossible for everyone.
Aside from moving to Hollywood and hoping to get discovered, the only chance you may have had was to show up at a talent competition or send a video to a TV Network - both of these never seem to work. At the same time, Casting Directors from major networks and top Talent Agents are constantly trying to find new talent to appear on their shows, and they are having just as hard of a time finding you!
GotCast simply brings both undiscovered stars and Hollywood Executives to the same place. Now you can get in front of the Casting Directors and Agents that can launch your career.
Our Founder's Story
GotCast was founded by 10-time serial entrepreneur Wil Schroter.
If you read his stuffy corporate bio, you'll find out he's
started some really impressive Internet companies and has won a ton of business awards. He's also a nationally syndicated columnist
and a writer for Forbes.
What you won't read much about is the fact that growing up, all Wil ever wanted was to become an actor.
After several lame attempts at trying to catch his break (auditioning for Real World #2 and the lead role in the movie Primal Fear)
he realized two things:
- The likelihood of getting discovered was pretty low
- There had to be a better way to jump start your career in Hollywood
Wil spent his time trying to figure out how to get everyone through the red tape of Hollywood and in front of the people that could change their careers. After talking to Producers, Casting Directors, and Agents, he learned that they were having just as much of a problem finding talent as talented people were at getting discovered.
He developed GotCast as a way for the rest of the world to get discovered by Hollywood - without actually having to be in Hollywood!
Wil's still un-famous, un-talented, and kind of a dork... but at least he's created a way for other people to make it big.
