“Wedding Day”, a new documentary-reality series from Mark Burnett Productions and DreamWorks Television, is now casting deserving couples!
Do you know of someone who truly deserves a dream wedding? Producers are looking for teachers, volunteers, military personnel, police, community leaders, cancer survivors, firefighters or anyone who continues to give of themselves to help others!
Video Requirements: They are looking for couples who are getting married in 2008, but not just any couple! They would love to see fun, energetic and expressive couples that have amazing stories to share! Here are a few pointers for getting ready to shoot your video!
- No gum chewing or candy in the mouth!
- Close the blinds, shades, etc. and turn on the lights. Make sure the room(s) are well lit.
- Do not sit in front of a window or lamp, as this will create a silhouette.
- Turn off the TV, radio, air conditioning, ceiling fans or heating units as this will create a
hum or buzz.
- Have fun! Emotions – both happy and sad - make for a compelling tape!
- Have someone other than yourself run the camera! Make sure it’s someone whom you
feel very comfortable with and who knows how to run a video camera!
- Keep interview question shots fairly close up – upper bodies and heads only. They don’t
need to see the entire living room, but would like to see faces, expressions and bodies!
IMPORTANT: When you are ready to go, have someone else read you these questions. Do not have paper in your hand or in front of you. Also – please include the question into your answer:
- Example:
Question: “Where did you first meet?”
Answer: “We first met at the local animal shelter” NOT “At the animal shelter”.
This is very important for the Producers to edit your video correctly and give you the best possible chance of being chosen for this show!
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: Couples – please sit very close together on a couch, bench
or chair(s).
- Introduce yourself. Tell us your names, ages and where you’re from. What do you do
for a living? Where do you live?
- How did you meet? Tell us the story of how you met.
- Is this your first marriage? If not, what happened to the other marriage? Widowed,
divorced –tell us about any children from a previous relationship?
- Tell us how you fell in love. Was it love at first sight? Were you friends first? When did
you know this was the one for you?
- How did he propose? Or did she? Tell us that story
*Be sure to include a recent photo of the couple as well as a brief paragraph of why they deserve a dream wedding. *If selected, producer may ask for an extended video with more questions and answers. Also may require a hard copy of the video (MiniDV preferred, can be VHS or Hi-8)
