Want to be a part of the world’s first Twitter-fueled race, powered by Mercedes-Benz?
|
The Deal: You and a friend are equipped with a Mercedes-Benz and two tickets to football’s biggest game. |
|
The Catch: You earn the gas to get there. Your fuel? Tweets. |
|
The Grand Prize: Make it to Dallas in three days with the highest social score of four teams and take home an all-new 2012 C-Class Coupe. |
How It’ll Work:
We’re looking for Twitter-savvy auto enthusiasts to apply for a spot in the world’s very first Twitter-fueled race. Four teams will compete live during the week of football’s big showdown in Dallas, embarking from four cities — New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Tampa — in specially outfitted Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Each team's progress to Dallas will be "fueled" by the amount of Twitter activity it generates, plus its performance in a series of social media challenges along the way.
How to Apply:
Think you have what it takes to compete on the road with Twitter’s elite?
First-round submissions end: December 23, 2010
Semi-finalists contacted via Twitter Direct Message by: December 24, 2010
Final teams announced on Twitter and Facebook: January 12, 2011
Details
Round One
Anyone with a passion for Mercedes-Benz and social media is encouraged to apply.
Also, be sure to follow @MBTweetRaceHQ on Twitter, as we will be contacting our Round Two semifinalists via Direct Message by December 24, 2010.
Round Two
Upon receiving a Direct Message from @MBTweetRaceHQ, Semifinalists will be asked to submit a short video in which they introduce themselves and their teammate, explain their passion for social media and Mercedes-Benz, and convince us why they should be chosen as finalists for the Tweet Race. This video content will offer a glimpse into how creatively teams can rally and utilize their social networks, so we encourage semifinalists to consider this as an interview with Mercedes-Benz USA for a unique, social-media-driven opportunity of a lifetime. They have until January 3, 2011 to submit their video to our secure site.
Finalists will be contacted around January 5, 2011.
The four official teams will be announced to the public on January 12, 2011.
