After not sleeping since last Winter we finally brought GotCast to life, and holy mother… it actually works!
We officially went live with our first casting for YoungHollywood.com on October 1st and instantly people started signing up, votes started pouring in, and we’ve already found some incredible talent.
Since everyone is pretty much new to this site, let me break down the rules for you:
1. We’re here to cast people for TV roles on-line.
2. To get cast, you simply create a profile of yourself, upload a picture (and eventually a video) and start getting votes.
3. The Top 10 most-voted profiles then go in front of our panel of judges who will pick one person to be cast for the role.
4. The winner will fly to L.A., get one-on-one hosting training with Marki Costello (the goddess of host training!), meet with the Founder of True Religion Jeans (our sponsor!) for a sweet hook-up, and enjoy their spot hosting for YoungHollywood.
It’s a pretty simple system. You just need to get more votes in order to make the Top 10. Our first contest ends December 31st, but there will be other contests to join during that time (more on that soon!)
The whole point of GotCast is to use the Internet to discover new talent. Up until now the only real way to get cast in Hollywood is to live there and hope to hell you get noticed by the right person at the right time. It’s frustrating and frankly, a pretty crappy process.
I think GotCast is going to change that by giving anyone the chance to get in front of top casting directors and agents without having to drop everything and move to Hollywood.
What you’re seeing now is just the tip of the iceberg. We’ve got tons of new casting opportunities on the way and lots of tools to help make your shot at Hollywood easier than ever. Now I’ll shut up and let you get back to winning!
