Jordan Whitley is, and always has been, a girl on the move.

If her assignment is to interview Olympic skier Johnny Moseley , Jordan Whitley isn’t going to sit idly by, microphone in hand awaiting her time on camera, while her crew gets the good stuff – Moseley in action. Whitley is going to be on a second pair of skis right alongside him, getting a first person experience for her viewers. Likewise, if she’s sent to interview pop teen sensation Miley Cyrus, Whitley has done her homework by soaking up all there is to know about the darling of millions of young girls and asking the questions they would ask if they were in her place. And if she’s called to do a travel piece on the hot spots of Rio, you won’t see her perched coyly atop a barstool in some touristy locale, reading her report. Instead, she’s living her report, sweating with the locals in the Samba Clubs of Rio. Jordan Whitley’s philosophy is to make it extreme—no matter what you’re covering.

A restless spirit and natural sense of adventure have taken Whitley from the depths of the South Pacific to the jungles of Brazil and the mountaintops of the Western United States. Her love of extreme sports, cultural hotspots, art and architecture has led to some unique reporting experiences, including conducting superpipe interviews at the Honda Ski Tour, going shark diving in Tahiti and covering the nominations for the granddaddy of all music awards—The Grammys.

Whitley is a rare breed—a unique blend of tomboy and Southern sophisticate—a true guy’s girl who looks like she should be on the cover of Marie Claire rather than where you would normally find her—backpacking in the Pyrennees Mountains of northern Spain.

The word passive simply doesn’t exist in Whitley’s vocabulary. She applies the same philosophy and stringent work ethic to her own skills set that she does to her reporting style. Her approach is simply this: strong reporting comes from a solid knowledge of every element of production. She can shoot, edit, write and produce, and has done so for a variety of broadcast, Internet and print outlets.

Her profile on basejumping airs on the Current Television Network and she recently shot and produced a three-part travel documentary on French Polynesia.

As an anchor for Resort Sports Network in Lake Tahoe, she has covered a variety of sports events, including the Professional Wakeboarding Championship, the International 4x4 Rock Crawling Championships and a Motocross Showcase with some of the world’ top riders.

During her year at RSN, she also hosted a live two-hour morning show, a live weekly entertainment program and executive produced a half hour children’s show featuring professional skiers and snowboarders, which had an environmental awareness theme.

She also makes contributions to the print world. Her work can be seen on the travel site Been-Seen.com, Powder.com, Travelgirlinc.com and "East Alabama Living" magazine.

She also hosts original programming on Music.com and produces for CMT’s “Insider” news program.

Whitley graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and French. While still a student, she interned with the WB Network, CMT and Alabama Public Television.
