I am a Navy wife, originally from Texas. I have had a passion for food my entire life. I just recently graduated from Culinary school, but have been in the food industry for about 12 years. From running the kitchens to running the front of the house, I LOVE it all. My husband, daughter and I were stationed overseas in Japan and Sicily before coming to California. I have taken a sort of culinary tour of the world while he was working on different bases. I dream of food and couldn't imagine my life without being in a kitchen. My daughter is 6 and calls herself my "sous chef"! I am very much into supporting the Slow Food foundation and will do anything I can to support local farmers and markets. I try to cook seasonally, and think it is important to bring awareness to our children and others about the importance of protecting our earth and soil. I feel as if this is just as important as the final presentation of a chef's food.
