My name is Giovy. I am 35 years old and a mother of 2. I was born in Brooklyn, NY, where all the good Italian Catholic girls come from. My parents were both born it Italy, so that feisty Sicilian blood runs through my veins!

I have been cooking since I was 12, starting with breakfast for my big family. My father owned Pizzeria's since I was 7 years old and I remember how I would wake up at 7 on Saturdays just to be able to come to the Pizzeria in the morning and help him with his prep.
I am a not a professional chef and have had no formal training, other than "Not like that!" followed by the slap on the hand with the spatula! So everything I know, is self taught. My kids and husband are my guinea pigs for all of my new recipes and not are not shy to say, "Mommy this is not as good as Abuela's.." The abuela part comes from marrying my Cuban husband....hence, I have learned some great Cuban dishes.

I love to cook!! Did I mention that I Love To Cook!
Funny enough I have been a recruiter since I was 20 years old, falling into the industry accidentally. But my true love always remained in the culinary arts. So in 2007 when I decided I wanted to start my own business, it was either a staffing company or a catering business. Wow...talk about two ends of the spectrum. But considering the economy, catering is a luxury that is suffering in times like this. So I went with the safer bet...Executive Search. Don't get me wrong I love what I do, but I can't wait to get home every night and reinvent dinner.

I think I would be a great contenstant on Hell's Kitchen because I am fun to work with, I have an unmatched sarcasm, but delivered with all of my sweetness, and I think the American Mom out there loves to see the next door Super Mom put the professionals to task.

Gordon Ramsey is a phenomenal chef and it is my dream to have the opportunity to work along side of him. He does have a potty mouth but hey, I'm from Brooklyn... and not easily rattled.

I look forward to being part of Hell's Kitchen.
