** Adding better pics & videos soon **
Hi everyone, I'm Brandon Stakes. I currently attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) for a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). For now, I have 2 jobs: I'm a Senior Computer Technician at a company I helped start called Seed Technologies and I'm in the Army National Guard as a Computer Technician. Online, you may know me as Fellstrike. Currently, I play World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, and Gunbound: World Champion (International) on the PC and Guitar Hero 3 & Super Smash Brothers Brawl on the Wii.
G4 Tech Correspondant:
I'm an avid G4 viewer and hopefully through this contest, I will be a part of that community! When I get home, I turn on the TV. I have to do nothing else because it stays on G4! You will never see me as giddy as when I'm sitting down watching Attack of the Show (I love me some Munn! <3 Olivia and Kevin)! I also watch X-Play, The Lab with Leo Laporte, Code Monkeys, The IT Crowd, Tokyo Underground, Last Exile, etc. I'm not trying to suck up, they're all just really awesome shows! Other shows you'll see me watch are Dexter, UFC, Family Guy, Seinfeld re-runs ... that's pretty much it!
I only have 2 hobbies: Electronics and Martial Arts. A day without either one is just a crappy day. I live for anything electronic, whether it's using it or abusing it! Even for one of my college electives, I chose to take an Electrical Engineering class. In the selection of gaming consoles, I own a wide variety, but at the moment the only next-gen console I have is a Wii. There will be a XBOX 360 and PS3 in the near future!
I used to be that kid that everyone would come to when their NES was broken; at 7 years old, I would take apart the NES, look at anything out of the ordinary (the biggest one was coke spilled on it) and do the best I could to repair it. Never had one I couldn't fix! From there, I graduated to fixing boomboxes at age 12. Once I began to understand my love for electronics, I would follow my dad around, whose biggest hobby was fixing and networking computers. This was when Windows NT 4.0, Novell, and Windows 95 were big.
I learned alot about computers from then on and this is the main reason I became a computer technician. In high school, I started coding with QBasic and C++ while also taking Web Design. This gave me a very good technical knowledge of how everything works internally with computers, along with how to notice something simple that is out of place!
In addition to being a huge electronics nerd, I'm also a die-hard gamer! Every game I touch, I dominate! In the first video clip, you'll see me being interviewed by Rob from Coin-Op TV in Los Angeles after I placed in the Gunbound semi-finals. The second video clip was a compilation of the Gunbound finals tournament taken place in Suwon, South Korea, where you'll see bits and pieces of everyone (myself included) who participated. I play almost every type of game out there, but I mainly prefer Roleplaying (online & offline), First Person Shooters, and Real Time Strategy games.
The Pickup Artist:
I'm pretty successful at everything in my life with the exception of my love life. I hold down 2 jobs and very well respected by all of my clients in both fields, I'm doing decent in college (could be better tho!), have great friends that I can rely on for everything, but a relationship? Please! If there is one thing that I'm horrible at, it is finding a girlfriend.
I'm not the most suave person out there ... in fact, I'm pretty nerdy! There isn't much to do where I live unless you're into barhopping. It's fun to do every once in a while but in my opinion, a bar isn't the best place to find a girlfriend. Most nights, I'll either hang out at my house playing games or head to a friend's house & bullshit the night away.
Even though I don't go out and about all the time, I'm not entirely shy around women. What drags me down the most is finding something to talk about. I'm pretty much a go-with-the-flow kind of guy, but awkward silences are definitely crippling!
With that said, this is what I generally look for in a girlfriend:
1) Someone I can respect! What this basically means is that I'm looking for a woman with a personality and intellect. Personality -- Someone who is kind and sweet, but doesn't mind "being one of the guys". Intellect -- Someone who has common sense and knows something (ie: a hair dresser knows alot about hair and can talk about styles, etc).
2) Looks -- They're not everything, but they're something! Someone who is completely out of shape lacks respect for themselves and therefore, lacks my respect (pointing back to #1). Now, I'm not saying "be a model" or "dropdead gorgeous" or anything like that; all I'm saying is to take care of yourself!
Everything else is either superficial or not entirely important -- such as musical preference, hair color, etc.
I'll be sure to add more stuff in the near future, but until then, feel free to check out the following links:
