My name is Derek Wayne Hurst. I am 26 years old and live in Arkansas. When I was 13 years old I was diagnosed with having Chronic End Stage Renal Disease which is also known as Chronic Kidney Failure. I was placed on Dialysis for 2 1/2 years and then had a Kidney Transplant that saved my life when I was 15. I have done well since. During my sickness I wasn't able to get out and do things so my mother started buying me movies so that I would have something to do while I was hooked up to the machine for 11 hours every day. This is when I realized I wanted to be in movies and be an actor. This is also when Billy Bob Thornton became my all time favorite actor. It has been a dream of mine to be in movies and meet Billy Bob. Well I have accomplished both dreams . I have been in 7 movies as an extra and last August I went to Billy Bob's concert in Alabama and I got to meet him and talk to him. He told me that he will let me be in some of his movies when they are doing them any where close.
I am very interested in doing more movies and being in Television shows. I love acting and comedy. I like making people laugh. I have helped around my community some with the local Nursing Home as a Volunteer and helped out with the youth at church. I love working with people and helping people.
