About
I grew up in a small town in Georgia called Gainesville, which some may know as the "Poultry Capital of the World." Ever since I was about 13, I knew I wanted to get out so I made a point to overachieve in every way possible in high school (Majorette, Student Council, Drama Club, Interact, Academic Team...you get the point). After high school, I went on to a fancy dancy private liberal arts school called Furman University (FU all the time!) in Greenville, SC. Furman had a beautiful campus, the professors were amazing, and I made the best friends of my life. It was still too homogeneous though.

After college, I did community organizing as an assistant director & volunteer organizer for the 2008 Election in Roanoke & Virginia Beach, VA and Greeley, CO. From there, I was offered a job as a campus organizer at UC Santa Barbara for a non-profit called CALPIRG. I recently quit my job in CA & moved back to Georgia just for a bit to figure out my life. While searching for jobs, I came across the mtvU casting call and thought that this could be a cool quirk of fate for me.

Reasons why this is my cup of tea:
1. I'm SAVVY - I watched MTV religiously growing up so I know my pop culture.

2. I'm QUALIFIED - Preference is given to applicants w/ a background in Communications (yay for my BA!), and I was a news anchor in high school & college.

3. I'm ENTHUSIASTIC - It's not just that I'm enthusiastic, but because of my organizing skills I know how to motivate people (like say audience members) and make them feel at ease (like guests).

mtvU could use a cute new face of someone who's a little bit quirky & a little bit indie. SO help me stand out & achieve my cheesy dream by VOTING FOR ME! Please & thank you!
